Deep Grooves Mastering - VMS70 Carriage Arm Switch Mod

The VMS carriage arm contains a reed switch. These switches can get bent out of shape over time. If it gets bent, certain function will no longer happen. For instance, the full stop when you push the carriage lever back will no longer work if the switch get deformed in a particular way. Also, if the normally closed contacts are not made when the lever is up or forward, your leed-in groove and end grooves wont trigger either. This was happening on my lathe and I troubleshot a lot of cables and cards before finding it was simply this reed switch not making it normally closed contact.

As usual, I decided to come up with a better solution. I 3D designed and printed a bracket that holds a microswitch. This new assembly replaces the original reed switch. And, it works great! Check it out. For sale at http://www.deepgroovesmastering.com

Also, FYI, music by Opcode66 :D
