Diamond Stylii Choice

Hi,

I'm just about finished rebuilding v2 of my system, however this time I'd like to do some cutting rather than embossing. Looking at the options available on myshank, I see they typically offer three options per stylus type: S, P and Synthetic.

Can someone explain the difference to me? In particular:

- the P seems to have increased back-angle, but what does that actually get me?
- what is it about the synthetic that makes it better?

Thank you.

Hi!

Quoting from the website:

P = Increased back angle to get the best longevity on hard blank records.

Synthetic = Longest life compared to a natural diamond stone (+ 50%).
