Is there an actual name for those plastic things we pop in the center of a 7"?

This may be in the wrong place but I ddidn't know where else to put it.

Thanks

If it's the three-pronged design it's often called a "Spider". If it's a round hub like the one you get when you buy a Technics SL1200 turntable it's often called a "45rpm adapter". There may be other names for them too.

I got corrected by a couple guys that said only the kind that you squeeze the edges to pop into the disc are called spiders because of the legs. The aluminum versions - both the press-ins and the weave-ins like a Webcor that warp the 45 into which you are sliding it are called `plates'. And - in the case of the Pfanstiehl aluminum style with the indentations around the edges - the wrapper says the same thing `45 RPM Centering Plates'.
