SHAVING A MOLDY EDISON CYLINDER

Devoted to discussion of all-acoustic record-playing machines, such as Edison cylinder players, Victrolas, Brunswick Ultonas, and the like. When the Big Blackout happens, this will be the only audio evidence of our civilization (as it is).

GREETINGS,
a quick video showing the process of shaving a very moldy 107 year old Edison cylinder that is covered with mold. when you find a cylinder in this shape it cannot be played, or saved. the archives will not accept a moldy cylinder, the archive wishes to archive cylinders, not store artifacts. if the cylinder cannot be played shave it and give it a second life as a recording blank.

Welcome! I just stumbled across your channel the other day. I was wondering if you were aware of the Forum, here.
