Two Charts: Which Frequencies Do What

I have had these charts taped to my wall for years.

They come from the inside covers of a 1970s era book my aunt gave me when I was a teen: "Audio In Media." Unfortunately the book is in storage and I can't adequately attribute it right now. The book was helpful when I was first getting into recording. It turns out these charts have remained the most helpful part of the whole book.
