New Pressing plants

Once you have cut a master laquer, you have metal stampers created and have records pressed from them. Discuss manufacturing here. (Record Matrix Electroforming- Plating, Vinyl Record Pressing.)

There seems to be also another pressing plant in Holland besides Record Industry.

I came across Mediadub (vinylpersen.nl) i thought this would be a broker but there is a small picture of production (see attachment).

Chris I have to correct you for one time
Europress is not located in the old Phonopress premises, because they proved to be not OK for safety/environment; that was the main reason why we moved away from that premises, along with other reasons, like that we needed more space etc., but that is also the reason why the new company decided to locate the plant somewhere else, even if, as you certainly know, company's owner is also the owner of that premises. So, those premises are now like "desert".
Europress is located in the back of Eurographic, the printing company. The installation consists on 2x12"s Leneds, there are a brand new 1000KgH steam boiler with PLC and a brand new cooling tower. We do all cutting and metalwork for them, and we can handle it easily because we're 2 km far from eachother.
They copied all pipings from our new installation done in July. I don't agree with them about some technical aspects (e.g. the boiler's exhaust valve purging the muds, which is not going directly to drain), but overall they are running OK.

I took them off the list because they are rather rude and not interested in business from outside Japan so best to leave them be. There are plenty of companies that want your business, including the four new ones in Europe that opened just in the last month.

The guy in your photos is the machine operator at Musicol, USA. He is not in Holland and neither is that plant.

Big plans of GZ Vinyl in the US and Asia;
Czech company GZ Media has announced ambitious plans to open new pressing plants in North America and Asia.

In an effort to tap the booming North American market, GZ will start by opening new plant Precision Record Pressing in Canada this August. Located close to Toronto, the new plant’s production capacity is expected to hit three million units by next year and five to six million in three years.

“At the moment, we export an absolute majority of what we produce, and about a third of it ends up in Northern America,” GZ Media’s Michal Sterba told The Associated Press. “It is a logical step for us to open a new factory in North America because we have quite a strong customer base there.”

GZ is also acquiring a majority stake in an existing US factory with a capacity of 3 million records. No further details have been revealed yet.

“Our main goal is to become No. 1 or 2 on the U.S. market in a couple of years,” Sterba continued.

Currently GZ operates one pressing plant in a small town south west of the Czech capital. The factory is running 24-7-365 to keep up with surging demand. The company’s output is estimated at 25 million units this year, making it one of the biggest, if not the biggest vinyl factories in the world.

...
Precision Vinyl Pressing will be ready to go in Burlington in June after partnering with Prague’s long-lived GZ Vinyl to bring 10 more hotly sought-after presses to Canada, with another 10 set to come in Year 2 if everything goes smoothly, according to owner/director Gerald McGhee, who’s also president of the online music retailer Isotope Music.

Precision already has verbal commitments to occupy “nearly 40 per cent of our capacity” in June, he says. He’s been in contact with all the Canadian major labels, who are internally predicting a 30 per cent increase in the domestic market over the next three years. He sees no sign of the business slowing now that Walmart is planning to stock vinyl in some of its stores; another large Canadian retailer has privately approached the company with tentative plans to increase its vinyl floor space by 500 per cent.

The major problem at the moment, says McGhee, is that no one can acquire enough vinyl inventory to keep up with demand. Universal Canada won’t be able to get its hands on the meagre supply of LP copies of Justin Bieber’s Purpose available in the States, for instance, until late February. Isotope Music, despite seeing its vinyl sales jump 200 per cent in the first quarter of 2015, still suspects “we were missing the boat largely because we didn’t have inventory,” he says.

Well, may as well let the cat out the bag
Been working away for a while now in Miami Fl.
So the old "studio one" pressing plant will be back on line shortly.
2 X auto Hamilton presses to start of with followed by another 2 Lened autos ultimately 6 presses.
The name!
Miami Florida mostly sunny so it is:
Sunpress vinyl.
Website soon. A bit of history of the plant will be in there as well as some pictures
The premises where the plant is has been pressing records since 1978-9 there has been a few idle years in between like the last few since it was mothballed as well as when mr Dodd past away some years ago it's last name was " Final Vinal. Not a spelling mistake either. Also known as "Final vinyl" pressed 10s of millions of records over many years.
The Hamiltons where delivered new at the plant in 1979 to add to two finenbilts already there.
They have been there ever since.
Will keep updating here.
Best
Chris

by the way:
MY45 is also doing 12inches again, after a endless hassle,
we found some additional pressing machines
We have done stabilisation of the whole electroplating process and also
the preforming process is working fine now.
There are some nice records coming out of the machines :)
our first nice project is a compilation of german funk church songs:
