I forgot to post before, here was a device to flatten and remove marks from the disc, without the need to remove it from place

replying JJ Wharrys, yes the support to hold the diamond was built with scrap parts, it is still being improved, thank you Stylus Maker, your information is very useful, my configuration is just a starting point that now needs to be improved according to the information and knowledge that I acquire

A brake disc driven by a belt was then used, I use a dc motor with rotation and direction control, the screws that hold the disc were cut and worked to have exactly the same weight and avoid vibration

I never tried to do it the other way around (reverse rotation), I didn't think it could make any difference, I'll try to do it

hi, i can move my cutting head to any angle i want, i have a little more stereo aperture with an inverted cutting needle where i get a lot more sharpness. I'm doing other stylus geometry types with interesting results

Also check that the connection of the coil to the torque tube is tight, if there is any soft spot in the middle of the way, your treble will not reach your stylus, all interconnected pieces need to work as if they were a single piece

I saw in a scully suspension box that had a speaker that was connected to the system and did this depth adjustment function, if you put a tension the coil comes out and pushes the cutter head mechanism down

I do it with plotter needles set at the right angles, they last a few hours and break the tip very easily
