Thank you Mark! I also have a Presto 1-C cutter head that is stamped ' 8 ohm ' ...So I actually have both. It's funny because I just figured 500 seemed like it might outperform 8 ohm's. I have to choose now. I'm leaning toward a modern amp setup with a transformer. It just seems more attainable and ...

Presto 6N amplifier recommendation?
Hello!
Anyone have a recommendation for an amplifier for use with a Presto6N?
I have a 500ohm 1-D cutter head.
Looking to build around a decent amplifier, Need lots more of equipment. Hoping to begin with this.

Ok, it's seems that I have all the parts I need for the overhead assembly. The weight of the attached cutter head seems to have it almost right. the tension spring looks stretched out - I'm going to replace it.

Rolandjays, Thanks bud. I'll hit you up :) Rsimms3, The platter spins nicely. Noisey- some scraping against a screw below the platter. So your lubrication advice might be the ticket. Hi there, I'm formally introducing myself. My name is Matt and I'm currently restoring a Presto 6N. So far I've replaced it's power cord.
