So they want 116K Euros for two of these new presses including the extruders. Hmm.

I've been communicating with them back and forth.. They seem to be very responsive and know their stuff.
Curious....

Re: New Vinyl Press Machines -- First In 30 Years?

I don't know. I think if people were given a choice they would rather buy new. anytime I find potential investors to go in on a plant they freak out about the age of the equipment and the limited servicing options out there. If they put this press on the market for 200K or maybe a bit more in USD, I...

German pirate plant busted. What happens to the gear?

Not sure if you guys heard about the pirate pressing plant in germany (in a forest somewhere) that got busted but here is the story. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/german-police-bust-europes-largest-718758 Question remains - and I really hope someone has the answer... What happens now to the ...

Re: Has anyone done a release through Mobineko?

Here are the two tracks I want to have on the B-Side. A-side tracks are almost done. There is another records that is done that will be matrixed before this (BTR-012, mine will be BTR-013, 13 is a lucky number in my world).

Re: Has anyone done a release through Mobineko?

Yes looks like a broker. Note that all commercial DMM cutting facilities are located in Europe. How does your local manufacturer in Canada compare pricewise? The guys in Que. have priced themselves out of the market by about 200 dollars easily, before tax. So they are out of the picture in my opini...

Re: Has anyone done a release through Mobineko?

My options right now are Rainbo (I moved to california this spring from Vancouver) or having Opcode do the full service work. Even if I got with Rainbo I'm stilling thinking about having Todd at deepgrooves or Dietric cut the next round of releases (2 on the books at the moment with 2 more in the ov...

Has anyone done a release through Mobineko?

Hi there. I was just searching out plants again and found one I had never heard of. I'm sure this is just a brokerage service, but its interesting in terms of their pricing and free shipping to the US for most states. Has anyone used them before or know more about what they do in terms of the DMM an...

Re: Has anyone made metal from a PC dub cut yet?

Hey Chris. No offense or harm intended. I was just asking. Right now its difficult to get a P&D arrangement so that you can even get 100 copies moved let alone 1000 or 3000. Things move to fast to move that many copies these days and I don't know of any dance label that's doing that currently. I gen...

Re: wtb vinilium manual

That would be really cool if you did, along with an electronics parts list much like some of the o909 kits out there on Ebay. Being able to machine the overhead locally where one resides and then pick up say the Caruso head to complete the unit with a self built electronics box/amp would be spiffy a...

Re: Has anyone made metal from a PC dub cut yet?

Thanks for the replies and comments on this subject guys. It's very interesting to learn more about the electro-chemical process. The reason for bringing it up was my concern that other than Transco and maybe one or two other places in the world the sources for lacquers have been and are limited to ...

Has anyone made metal from a PC dub cut yet?

Hi there. I just was wondering... has anyone done metal plating using a polycarbonate plate yet? Is this even possible? Since the core of an every day lacquer is aluminium is that part of what is required for making an lacquer work for the electro plating process? I was under the impression because ...

Re: mistakes and liability

I'm a little puzzled by this "scaping" sound you describe. Doesn't every record have a noticeable noise at the run-out groove loop? It's such a well known record artifact, DJ's have recorded the sound into their dance mixes for years. I actually run out the last track in my DJ mixes to the locked g...

Re: ★★ Construct Neumann VMS 70 from scratch ★★

Hi Alex. One possible solution here is to "digitize" an existing unit. Handheld 3D scanners with the accuracy (and I mean they are accurate enough for you to get better measurements than using tape measures) you are looking for are not cheap but they can be rented. Once the parts are digitized, they...

Tests were not that promising. I'll edit and post some video tomorrow. With the added weight of another platter the motor was strong enough to start on its own. So, I was wrong about that. I was also able to maintain constant speed when freely rotating. However, once I put the pad of my index finge...
