Yes, the Micro Point stylus is a few millimeters longer then the Transco 350 stylus that I was using.
Thanks,

HAECO & Westrex Cutting Stylus.
Hello Trolls, Just curious if anyone using the Micro - Point WSH-2S cutting stylus in their HAECO SC2 or Westrex 3D2 cutter head is having an issue. It seems that the aluminum shaft with the stylus mounted in it is too long when placing it into the torque tube. This is the WHS-2S-AL cutting stylus. ...

Scully Automatic Feed Control Alignment procedure
Hello Trolls, I am having a problem with my Scully feed control power amplifier and it's preamp. All the tubes check out ok, and all of the functions and voltages seem to be in speck on both units. The problem is setting the L.P.I. ranges so the pointer does not hit the stops when turning the automa...

Re: Vacuum pump for Scully lathe
Hi Boogievan,
Thanks for the info on the vacuum pump. I think this will work ok, but when you bring down the voltage with the Variac, does the motor run quietly?
Does it make much noise when you are cutting?
Thanks again for your help.

Vacuum pump for Scully lathe
Hello Trolls,
Trying to find out what type of vacuum pump to use on my Scully-Haeco cutting system and how much CFM will it need.
Also if anyone has a pump for sale, just let me know.
Thank you,

Re: Disappearing grooves mid way through cutting lacqures??
This problem with the grooves has happened before. Many many years ago we manufactured lacquer for a company that made blank recording disk's for vinyl record production and the same thing was happening and we were able to correct it. After the lacquer is coated on the aluminum substrate, it quickly...

Re: Viryl warmtone steamless real world power consumption
At the Viryl “learn more - contact us” page on their website. I am a disk cutting studio and I am trying to find a solution for my clients who need small order runs of 200-500 7” and 12” records. So, I was looking into the Viryl Litetone record press. The plating for the lacquers is not an issue, si...

Re: Disappearing grooves mid way through cutting lacqures??
Perhaps uneven lacquer coating on the disk. The coating may be thinning out in the areas on the disk surface where you are seeing this.

Contract disk cutting for pressing plants.
Does anyone here do contract disk cutting for pressing plants? If so, what are some of the benefits or pitfalls, such as receiving poor mixes to work with and then have to remaster the tracks on your time so that they will cut correctly to disk. If so, would that be an extra studio charge to the art...
