Worth ...

Electroless Silvering

Hi SRSanford10 I have experience in commercial PCB manufacture, electroless silver plating is now commonplace, and it is one of the more reliable plating processes too. The silver bonds really well, and is less sensetive to contaminants etc, so a better bet for doing at home, can't remember the name...

Books

Thanks Blacknwhite Guess i will have to invest in them eventually, i've already invested what i think is a lot of ££ for the amount of information you get. I know these books are copyrighted works etc, but for this subject matter they are a rare source of reliable data/info and importantly the "prop...

Disk recording books

whilst on the subject of the AES Disk Books, does anyone know if they are in the public (free) domain. Strictly for educational purposes though!

Many of the old texts on disk cutting are now collectors items and priced way beyond the reach of the mere mortal like me trying to further my knowledge!!

RIAA design info

i've spent some time researching RIAA looking for circuits, data etc. Came across useful design info regarding reverse RIAA and mentions some of the "nuances" of the curve, which i thought may be relevant to this thread !! http://www.hagtech.com/pdf/riaa.pdf If you look at them main site, is a compa...

I need a microscope too!

hey trolls I've read in the posts that 40X mag. was standard on old lathes, would this enable you to see the surface of the groove walls, and see how smooth the cut was? What magnification would be needed to see the same on microgroove records? I'm also a mad record collector and i'm interested in i...

markrob: I'm looking to add feedback to my head using an cheap electret condensor mic capsule. I've tried using magnetic windings as most pro heads do (see US patent 2522567), but its hard to eliminate cross coupling between the driver and feedback coils. My thought is that a capacitive pickup will...

Power Frequency Conversion

It's been a while since the last post...... There are Thyristor controlled motor speed controllers that work by changing the supply frequency, this would solve the supply problem. If you are hands-on enough you could build one yourself as it will only be low power, your machine can't use much energy...
