Actually, the real problem with sending an iPod into space is Solar Radiation. Space is filled with it. And, without radiation shielding most microchips would get zapped. Out in space beyond the van allen belts that protect the earth, there is a large amount of radiation. Radiation will zap microchi...

Actually, there has been a lot of argument over which sounds better. There were even some test cuts made of the same track for comparison. You can find the thread here on this forum. I'm not sure there was ever a final conclusion that one sounds better than the other. It really seems to have a lot t...

You can ask that on a private chat ... what do you prefer ? mozart or beethoven ? If I'm not mistaken this is a public forum. The point is to share information with people. But, it seems that everything should be in a PM according to you. This is like the third time you've tried to slap my wrist wi...

to mossboss: spending 2-3k on someone who knows to fix the stuff (unfortunately there arent too many out there who really know how to fix and not just talk and ask big money....) would prevent blowing heads.and output transistors. and much more. its even cheaper than fixing heads. after 30 years a ...

Hi, Opcode has this backwards. The linear velocity is greater at larger diameters (the begining of the record) and results in better fideilty. As you approach the inner grooves (the end of the record), the linear velocity decreases and the sound quality is reduced. Mark Yea sorry. I shouldn't respo...

What you are talking about is called Diameter Loss. The diameter at the outer edge of the record is obviously larger than the inner diameters. Since the records spins at a constant speed (33.3 or 45) the time it take for one full revolition is fixed. If I put a dot anywhere on the record and timed h...

@rocness - You can cut a 14" master lacquer with Vinilium. You just need a proper lathe body and overhead feedscrew mechanism. One of the creators of Vinylium is a super cool cat named Flozki. He posts a lot on this forum. Check out his Presto 6N/Vinylium hybrid: http://www.floka.com/lofi/presto_flo...

Wow, thought I explained it all... I'll try again. Flutter is the result of the motor that drives the platter that your lacquer is on. A 1200/1210 has 1.5 kg*cm of torque. That is not a lot. You can mod it with a different resistor to give it between 0.5 and 1.0 additional torque. But, it is not rec...

Q: Can you cut a master lacquer on vinylium dubcutter ? A: Yes. You can not on VinylRecorder without modification. But you can unmodded on Vinilium. Q: Can you cut a 12in master lacquer for reproduction on vinylium dubcutter ? A: Yes, but I think you mean to ask if you can cut a 14in master lacquer....

The value reads 1023 when there is no signal. When there is signal, the value goes down from 1023. I can reverse that so the value starts at zero and goes up when there is signal. I am looking to make something better than the stock VMS70 pitch computer. I am not necessary looking to make something better than the Zuma or Vinylium Pitch computer. But at least comparable. The only advatages would be using modern chips and so I can offer modern conveniences with respect to flas...
