I'm going at least make one for myself. If it works well than I would be willing to make copies for those who are interested. I will be working with a guy who uses a Zuma. So, I will have someone with experience to test the unit. I can create USB based devices using a PIC16F887 fairly easily. Additi...

New Pitch Computer
Hello everyone. I am a computer programmer and hardware designer. I've been toying with the idea of creating a modern Pitch Computer. Something like the Zuma. I'm also a new owner of a VMS70. I would appreciate some input on the topic. If anyone has a minute to answer a few Q's I'd appreciate it. --...

To be a fair test it need to be done on the same lathe body and the same LPI. If the two cuts don't come from the same apparatus then I don't think you are really going to have a baseline for comparison. The head should be swapped out from VinylRecorder to Vinylium. The same exact audio signal given...

@Bonati, Thanks for the info. I was doing some reading of Neumann documentation. It must be for the VMS66 or an AM32 or something. It said that I would need a strobotron. So the VMS70 has one built in? I know that the pitch computer uses the dots on the side of the platter to know when a quarter tur...

WTB - ZA 12/68 B Stylus Insertion and Orientation Scope
I'm looking for a ZA 12/68 B Stylus Insertion and Orientation Scope. Anyone have an extra one or know of where I might find something similar. Also looking for a Buchmann-Meyer light for bandwidth observation. As well as a Strobotron for checking turntable speed. Any suggestions or leeds are welcome...

@montalbano - I think you have taken this way too personally. First, you didn't really address most of my complaints. You spent a lot of time talking about other things. Second, any system based on a SL12000 has flutter. There is no argument there except from you. The torque is not high enough, cert...

I play a number of clubs that do have a stereo setup. Of course kickers are mono. And, I've even played a club that was setup to run surroundsound if you had the outs.... I do live in Chicago though.... But, yes a lot of places are do outpu mono to their speakers. At home I certainly run setereo. So...

My bad then. Could have sworn I read that you have to mod your headshells to play mono well/at all. Never tried to play mono material on a stereo cartridge. Have a mono tonearm setup for that. Otherwise an accurate synopsis of things in my opinion.... And I'm positive there are a number of people wi...

If anyone is interested I can post two audio clips. One of the original material sent to souri. And, one of the recorded disc that I received from Souri. The flutter is so distinct and audible that it would be embarrasing for me to play this to prospective distributors. I write music. I want to be a...

I believe anyone you sell this to has to pay Souri for training otherwise he won't support the system. He also won't sell you blanks or new needles. That is a major issue with Souri. He only sells items to people who are the original purchaser of the machine. And, if it gets sold, the purchasing par...

I'm sure if every plant in the world refused to press the Serato records then they would simply buy their own pressing equipment. At $599 per box, they have to be making bank. Something tells me they could buy some presses if they had to. It makes me ponder how they made the master cuts to begins wi...

@Megamike - You need to adjust your latency buffer size. Poping or clicking from software generally means the computer can't keep up with the audio stream you are trying to deal with. Adjusting your buffer allows the system to deal with the audio stream in a fashion where it won't get bogged down an...
