I cut into the blank side of a one sided record using a cold ruby stylus with a Presto 6n. IT cut great and sounded great. I was also cutting onto laserdiscs (also sounded pretty darn good). But, my needle got ruined pretty quick. However, I was (is) pretty new at this, so there is no telling wheth...

heyhey saphire didn't gave too good results while cutting into PVC, i did so years ago and cut into japanese "harmonia" disks but they weren't probably made from PVC and the result was bad.
