Don't despair about things going pear shaped…..
Yes there was another one that I know of as well and my memory is failing me as well, I have seen a few come up on eBay in Australia, I was aware of Harris and Nuttall as well.
Would it be Royce?

Re: Harris Cutting Lathe

The last retail prices I saw for a Sugden lathe was an increase from £200 in 1957 to £250 in 1961. Stereo Sudgen Cutter head models will be rarer than hen's teeth, the mono ones are not common I got two. I doubt the stereo version went much beyond 1958/59 when the 45/45 was settled on as the current...

Re: Book: Basic Disc Mastering, 3nd Ed. (Boden)

You need to find a jewellers faceting machine, not cheap there is plans for one in Wireless World it is for Thorns I think if I recall, it's the same principle just you need a harder diamond cutting wheel to cut with. Not sure what you would need to cut diamonds with but it would work for sapphires ...

Re: Book: Basic Disc Mastering, 3nd Ed. (Boden)

I know I have both the hard copy and the fake copy from online. The hard copy is the best one as it is the latest fullest copy with the greatest number of pages....I am suggesting that it should go online in a limited format and provide a future income. The interest is not going to go away but the i...

Why not just make it available as an electronic download so the print costs are NIL...?

Re: Vortexion AD/47 Disc Cutting Amplifer

Hello and the answer is no never come across anything other than adverts for it. It was not in production for long either and the only option is to draw out the circuit from the actual unit. Take it one stage at a time i.e. start with the front end or the power supply and then put all the bits toget...

Re: Somebody sell Blank Discs ?

Whilst you may not wish to make a controversy you are making a mountain out of a molehill, you have been advised where to go to get supplies. What exactly are we supposed to do if he does not reply. There are few options and you just have to be patient...He will reply in his own good time....if that...

Re: Somebody sell Blank Discs ?

Rome was not built in a day but just because it is called Instagram (and you have no idea if the person you are contacting gets one or a 1000 or more messages per day or that they have some other issue to deal with in the real world)does not mean that an instant reply will be forth coming. You may w...

Re: Rek-o-kut M-12 and R-8A wiring diagrams / help

Pretty sure the full manual is on this link (you just need to scroll through the topics or do a search on the forum) and if that fails then Google is your friend.....Rek-o-Kut Imperial might help to find it as well.

Re: 1940 Allied catalog online

I know I know I do word blindness as well and often go back to read something post it and then after see the mistakes it happens. There were BBC reports on the Fairchild, Presto heads and the BBC heads - the BBC heads got updated to Feedback type. The BBC did make good use of the equipment because t...

Re: 1940 Allied catalog online

How does the sunk by Uboat work when the item would have been shipped across mainland USA? The UK lease lend was not this lower end stuff from Presto and it was leased to the BBC. Who assessed it did not look on it favourably and then modified their own equipment and sticking the Presto stuff back o...

Re: Grampian RA 7

Hello Chris

PM Sent

I do not have a full manual the schematic tells you all you need to know, as it states AC voltages at test points on the valves and pretty sure it states in feedback links or the bottom of the schematic how to set bias points, it has been a while since I looked at it.

Re: Grampian RA 7

If you compare the two circuits the Grampian RA7 using 811A output tubes is similar to the Gotham PFB150 and the KT66 version will be similar IMHO to the Presto 92A (is it) that uses 4 x 807 output tubes (I have never seen the Grampian KT66 version of the schematic) but the BBC modified the Presto 8...

Re: Groove and Stylus Inspection Optics

I went old school and got a Clarkstan groove inspection microscope on eBay, it should be with me in a couple of days. From the USA to UK, for those that wish not to be sick at how much I paid, do not go do a search to find out but around US$20 and same again for shipping. It has a built in reticule ...

It is the same, just need to flip back to the parent directory, I got the link in an email months back on another group I think. I thought it might be useful so I started to download some of them for future reference and review of contents at a later date.
