Re: Laser Etching in US?
I know Erika does, but I'd love to hear of an alternative. Anybody?

I agree - the cheapest rates will be with USPS, or Canada Post in my case. But the trade-off is you have to be really easy going with the timeframe. Go with a freight carrier like CEVA if you have a time requirement, but be prepared to spend more money. Also, if you're ever shipping record jackets, ...

Video looks good. Great find! Where did you dig up this machine if I may ask? Thanks! We found it at a factory in Woodbridge, Ontario. These guys were getting out of the print packaging business and hadn't used it in years. A machine broker we know connected the dots between us. After we got it, th...

When = now! We're finally done all our modifications and tinkering, with a result we're proud of. We're based in Toronto, and the jackets are available through me (Paul) at paul [@] samomedia [dot] com or 416.425.6631. We've set up two tiers for pricing: wholesale (so we can start relationships with...

The Record Jacket Corporation
Hey guys - just letting you all know we've opened up a factory producing full colour printed (and blank) 12" record jackets. Our facility is in Toronto. Since there's not many of us out there, I thought it might be a good idea to let you know of our existence. Here's a video of our fabricating machi...

Concerns with shrink wrap?
I'm considering buying a shrink wrap tunnel - are there any concerns with record warpage when applying this kind of heat? I suppose it comes down to the temperature and duration. What do you guys think?

No-label Records
Hi all,
I'm told that a press needs to be reconfigured in order to press a no-label record. Is that true? And if so, is there an easy explanation as to how that's done?
thanks

Thanks a lot for the responses everybody, I really appreciate all the input. I'm still quite perplexed about this though, and it's happened to me a couple times over the years. Mossboss, would you mind clarifying the following sentence? Wasn't sure if I understood: "However with a fair rise in tempe...

Shipping vinyl records in this heat - how to avoid warpage
Hey all, I ship a skid of records from the States to Canada every week (on a tightly stretch wrapped pallet with the boxes stacked vertically). I didn't have this problem last summer as it was cooler, but today the worst happened: 2 skids of records arrived that were warped by the heat. What a horro...
