Re: Dubplate shortage
Thanks,
They're location used to be at:
47 rue L' Echat 94001 Creteil.
Apparently that's where they were manufactured?
I have a few old boxes of Pyral Lacquers with that address on them.

Re: Dubplate shortage
Maybe there would be some documentation left somewhere. Lacquer compound formulations, manuals, procedures etc.?
@MyShank, Did you speak with someone?

Re: Dubplate shortage
We're all there with you. One company supporting the entire vinyl production industry... I tried to order dubs a few weeks ago and was told they were back ordered till mid June. I couldn't wait so we ordered 12" masters instead. I have a feeling it's going to take a catastrophe before someone else s...

Re: test pressing noise - little scratches or stamper issue
Hi Kevin, The blob at the bottom looks like non-fill. The 45 degree streaks may be debris in the stamper or a damaged mother. If it varies in sound between multiple test pressings it's most likely on the stamper which can be cleaned and new test pressings made for your approval. Let us know if you g...

Re: Transco Lacquers and Styli
JJ Golden advised me to cut a side of silence with the heat turned off & that has cleaned most of them up quite nicely. Caution when doing this , as they can wear and get hissy real quick without heat. I don't run a whole side without heat, just maybe 30 seconds then check it.... then another 20 se...

Re: When cutting a record, which channel has inverted polari
interesting thread, We've just always kept everything in the studio pin 2 hot. As far as I know most modern analog recording gear being made today is all wired pin 2 +. So we can assume that most music these days is being created with ABS polarity as pin 2+. (except when 25-30+ year old gear is used...

Whatever, I guess we both answered from different perspectives.
You were answering the "were", and I was answering the "Are" part of the question.
You're awesome, I'm awesome, everybody is awesome.

Re: There are no dumb questions
Hey Todd,
I was directly answering the question that dave friday asked.
Al refers to it, (Groove spacing) in your video at 10:20 - 10:42.
Do you really feel my response to dave fridays question is not true?

Re: There are no dumb questions
" Hi all, I grew up thinking that record were/are cut with high frequency premphasis and bass cut.The bass cut was/is to help with groove spacing? Mixed in with the above is riaa nab and so on. Ta." You're right. Cutting with the RIAA (bass cut) is directly related to groove spacing. i.e. to allow s...

Re: Refinishing a Lathe
Cool, It's going to look so great when it's done. If you can't get the DIN#, maybe you could bring a piece to a custom shop and do some color/texture matches
on some scrap metal till they get it right.
Would love to see how it turns out
Best,

Re: Refinishing a Lathe
You can get the hammered finish spray paint at Lowes/Home depot.
Not sure about getting a color match though, it would most likely be a complete re-finish with the new color.
Other than that you could try a local custom car/bike paint shop for their Ideas.

Re: Ebay: Neumann VMS70
In the back on one of the pics looks like an SAL rack with Amps. Wonder if it's included?
If so, maybe there's a head too?
Funny how shipping went from $200 - $500....
The warning signs are coming out!

Re: Ebay: Neumann VMS70
What's shipping cost from Russia?
Will it be dismantled and packed/crated up properly or just shoved in a wooden box to arrive as scrap metal?
Do you have leads on a working Head and amps?
Some thing to consider for the prospective newbie buyer...
