Re: Looking for a record cutter for lacquer mastering

Teach a man to fish y'know? :D All it really teaches me is that either they don't know or they can't be bothered. I'm already well aware of how to search, but suggesting I employ the query "DIY" is more or less like telling me to search the word "the". The real answer is that there is no step by st...

Re: Looking for a record cutter for lacquer mastering

That's not what he is saying.. much of the info you seek is scattered about in the forums but without giving any parameters such as your level of experience or budget you asked a broad question to be answered of "mastering lacquers" and for the professionals and many others the setup you are asking ...

Seems like your best bet is going to be to wait for Sillitoe to start selling theirs

I have a 6n and I'm also trying to find a tone arm I can easily add to my setup... I might go so far as to try to 3d printing one

Presto Recording Lathe 16" Transcription Turntable MRC16

I have a second chance offer on this MRC16.. the main problem is the pickup location is a bit remote.. it will require to some work and a head to be fully functional. Is it worth the trouble?

Re: DIY heated stylus

As long as you can test and return if it does not meet your needs, you should be ok. Gotta love Amazon prime! But even if it's not what I need for this I'm sure I could find some other use for it.. I may need to do some electro plating in the near future... no not plating masters ;-) There's a lot ...

Re: DIY heated stylus

Granted this is not the least expensive solution but would a variable DC power supply suffice as a heating power supply?

Lighting for your cutter

I finally carved out what will hopefully be a longterm workspace for my Vanrock and I bought a couple of LED lights so I can see what I'm doing and thought I'd share them. This one has a magnetic base with adheres to the sides of the vanrock case which is convenient. ASONRL LED Sewing Machine Light ...

"Have you eliminated the playback turntable as not being the problem?" I have redundancies for most of my cutting gear but no second turntable. Do you have a lathe that you cut before you started noticing the problem? If you play it on your turntable does it have the problem? The stylus on turntabl...

Re: Vinyl-R — How to record songs to PVC/polysterene?

I think it's safe to say that there is nothing that does all of this and anything available that does many of these things will cost you tens of thousands of dollars. But if you could settle for a portable (not battery powered) 7" recorder that records 33 or 45 then there have been many Vanrock/Atom...
