dc motor

Hello Nickou, What is the use of a modern dc motor as long as the Lyrec hasn't gone down ? You still have to use the same coupling shaft and the same oil dashpot so there won't be an improvement on the rumble figure and tightness of the low end like you get with the Technics motor drive. Regards, Ma...

adamnat stylii

I suppose that would be ideal. However that is stretching a bit. The sapphire doesn't wear out that fast. As I said I watch to see if I will get a clean noise free cut, I listen to see if the stylus is still giving the best sound possible

adamant stylus

Somehow this answer gives me a bad feeling. . It presumes I'm stupid and after 30 years of disc cutting I find this unacceptable. When I buy new tires and one gets ripped by glass or anthing I replace it. Same thing goes for a chipped stylus. The last time I chipped a stylus was about 20 years ago w...

corinth head

Flo's picture is the prototype and uses Neumann parts indeed. However the new head I got on demo had all new parts. He made a series of five and these were all sold. As far as I know he is now making a new series of five. If you can produce a head which surpasses the SX74 in quality it would be wort...

Hi Misjah,

Strange asking the world when all the answers were sitting beside you in the Van driving the lathe from London to Numansdorp.

sx74 for sale

With all due respect but practically every moving part of the sx74 head can still be made. Coils, windings, ceramic shafts and yes you can use new adhesives. Anyway normally it is not necessary to cannibalise an old head. The main attraction of the caruso head is the price setting. And as Flo states i...

adamant stylii

Transco and Adamant come out of the same hole ??? I doubt that, Transco bought Micropoint a long time ago. Adamant is still produced in Japan as far as I know. And my limit is and always has been 10 hrs. Then a new stylus. 20 hrs is asking for trouble and you're way past a proper cut. Maarten de Boe...
