I bought a beaten Rega Planar. Usually better price than arm only and got a great deal with fresh needle.

Asked a woodworker friend to cut the arm part of, glued a piece of wood to bottom and presto.

Hope this helps!
That's exactly what I was thinking lately! Probably the best/cheapest option.

Technics sp10 mkII tonearm?

Hi. Some time ago I bought a Technics SP 10 turntable to use in my Vinyl Recorder system. I have the turntable, the power supply, I have had it serviced and now it's turn to buy a tonearm for it... Any suggestions? I don't want to spend a fortune on it, I'm just cutting for a hobby (10 years so far)...

Re: Vinylrecorder mixer problem

Any ideas?

That small gadget was plugged to the mixer to be able to adjust the volume of one of the channels. Sort of an additional balance knob. But where was it placed?

Vinylrecorder mixer problem

Hi! Couple questions here: For the last 6 months I didn't cut anything at all on my VR. Sometimes a noise apperared and I couldn't find its origin So I decided to stop cutting, I cut as a hobby so it's not a big deal to stop for a time. A couple days ago I decided to upgrade all the RCA cables on my...

Re: Vinylrecorder stylus damage

if the stylus attracts or picks up some plastic bits it'll be noisy without being "damaged" sometimes it takes a super cleaning while under the scope Normally whenever I do a cleaning, I do a “super cleaning”: microscope + Souri’s cleaning fluid + a precision “Olfa” PAPER cutter. Takes long but it’...

Could anyone share experience about the difference in output between cuts with regular vs. feedback cutterhead on a T-560?

Thanks
This is exactly my same question. Is there such a big quality improvement? Which is the difference?

Vinylrecorder stylus damage

Been cutting close to 7 years now using a Vinylrecorder, so much to learn and figure out yet... This might be a quite basic question, maybe you can help me: Why do cutting stylus end up doing noisy cuts? Some of them can have some kind of tip damage, be worn out, etc... but others have no visible da...

Re: Vacuums for chip-sucking

Hi, I used The vacuum I got from Souri (was it a Thomas?) until it died last year. Probably cut around 800 records with it. I had no idea of what to buy, doubted between a fish tank pump and an industrial type vacuum. But again, no idea which pump would be suitable... Then, while visiting the local ...

Not a sound engineer or anything related, just a record collector and music lover. I started with a Vinyl Recorder seven years ago, still love it. I’ve cut over 1.000 records with it.

Re: Pitch Wobble Mystery Challenge!

Is it very cold were you live? Do you pre-heat your blanks? I don’t... I had a simmilar problem two months ago with Souri’s blanks. After destroying a bunch of them I tried something which worked in my case: I placed the record on my 1200, heated it to around 37 degrees celsius, then I turned it ove...

Re: A question about stylus and sound.

my guess is it's more so the change in depth/angle from switching out the stylus if you didn't adjust those. even just with removing the head for stylus changing, you'll never get it in EXACTLY the same spot. though I wouldn't be surprised if the stone itself made a difference Never thought about t...

A question about stylus and sound.

This might be a very stupid question but I had never thought about this before (and I've been cutting for 6 years now!). I'm cutting Souri's discs on a Vinylrecorder, using his stylus also. While cutting some minimal techno records with a real clear sound I had an accident and damaged the stylus so ...

Re: Xrays

Hiya. Are current Xray plastics still good to Lathe cut? Is someone able to cut from digital files direct to current Xray material? Has anyone tried standard plastic laminated paper to cut? I have done it, results vary. depends on brand of xrays. Which lathe are you using? Is it a Vinylrecorder?

I bought my Vinylrecorder close to seven years ago.

Would I buy it again after all I've gone through in these years?

YES.
