Re: Automatic groove speed controller for VR
yeah sorry i'm reading it again now that i am more awake and what i wrote doesn't make any sense! but ok, so that means ~10.75v would be max voltage / speed and minimum LPI?

Re: Automatic groove speed controller for VR
if this is accurate and i understand it correctly, then as voltage is increased from 0 to 1.25v, the motor would gradually slow down from maximum speed to a stop.If you apply a voltage (Vin) to this jack, the regulator will output a voltage to the motor (Vout) such that Vout = Vin + 1.25V.

Re: Automatic groove speed controller for VR
this is interesting! so it sounds like souri's groove distance controller might not necessarily be required if you can program it yourself. you would just need something like an amplitude follower outputting cv and a digital delay for adjusting the original signal to match the latency of the width c...

Re: Weird channel drop out on low input signal
can you hear the volume drop in the transducers on your cutterhead? if so, the problem is somewhere before that in your chain.

if you're itb anyway, couldn't you just use a nice waves plugin or something? maybe get a midi controller or something so you can do it with your hands.

Re: What should the site look like?
prosilver seems pretty straightforward and an easy transition from the current style. rock n roll could be ok without the silly graphics.

Re: Inkjet printing on record blanks?
oh in terms of printing on the blank side though - i vaguely recall hearing about some kind of clear coating you can spray onto a surface to make it printable with regular ink. let me see if i can find out what it was. also, do you know the maximum media thickness that can be fed through your printe...

Re: Inkjet printing on record blanks?
i wouldn't be concerned about cutting through it, just gunking up the stylus in the process.

Re: Inkjet printing on record blanks?
before or after cutting? if it is before cutting, i would think that it would interfere with a clean cut - after cutting and i would be concerned about ink filling in grooves. are you planning on the printed side being playable?

Re: Color blanks?
myshank is the only source i know of for colored blanks. you could have pressed blanks made i guess but ymmv with cutting those. in terms of laser cutting - there are many things to take into consideration. for example, pvc can not be laser cut, so you would need to use a different type of plastic. ...

Re: Cant Get rid of squeaks on cuts, im using a VR, Help!!!
i was having this problem recently and narrowed it down to my lead screw. if you put your ear close to the overhead, you might be able to hear it squeaking as it rotates. the sound went away for me once i removed the overhead, cleaned off the screw with q-tips, squirted some oil around the carriage,...
