Re: Test pressing quality control
When the problem lies with the client's hardware and they won't accept that their turntable is, to put it mildly, low-quality, record the TP and send them the file. Ask them to check if the issues persist in the recording. If not, the customer has their answer. It’s been working well for us. It invo...

Re: Question about DMM bath
I think estevamtec asked if it is possible to process metal parts (fathers, sons) with DMM in nickel baths. You don't need a special galvanic bath for this. Well, you have to grow these metal parts somewhere and this is usually done in normal nickel baths, like any lacquer stamper. It is only a matt...

Re: Strange audible error on 1959 stereo disc
Today, as soon as I saw the stamper under the microscope, I remembered this thread... The stamper get scratched from the label feeding arm. The rubbing gently rubbed off the tips of the recording on the stamper. Maybe it was similar here. Or maybe the laquer was left for some time after cutting an...

Re: weird honeycomb pattern after plating
In addition to the organic contaminants you might suspect as a matter of course, check for two other things: - do you have the right proportions of silver nitrate to reducer in the silvering gun (often, when there is too little silver nitrate, such things happen, although these traces are then much ...

Re: Plating problems
24h filtering through carbon filters + dummy on low amp (3-5A)should help. Do not forget to supplement the surfactant afterwards. Baths in which you process laqs should be filtered through carbon filters on a monthly basis, obviously depends on the amount of work. We have noticed that nickel deposit...

DMM processing
Hi all
There is here a lot of information about laquer processing: preparation of chemical reagents for the silvering, whole process description etc.
And what does it look like for DMM? How to degrease? How to passivate? Any tips? Same plating program as for "sons" ?
Cheers

Re: Pressing defects
Check your rims. We had same problems last time(AD12) - looks like places with "silver shine" places on the record. Changed parameters - allmost no matther, only shift the places of this issue. After installing new mounting rims, the problem disappeared. https://i.imgur.com/DXi1PZz.png If the...
