With the cutter head lifted, can you hear the program audio from the cutter head drivers?

Yeah I've experienced the same. Just let it heat and spin, then flip it over. Seems to do the trick

I was having the same issues, installed a new stylus (no heating) and re-calibrated - noise gone.
