Re: VR T-560 Rake Angle Contradictions
Hey Obi, happy Star Wars day! So first off, technically what we are talking about here is the "rake angle" not the "back angle". I must confess I am a bit of a stickler for nomenclature at the best of times, but in this particular instance, knowing the correct name will come in very handy for worki...

Myshank Anti-static Wax for Sale - It doesnt seem to work on Souri blanks
Hi, I have here 4 more bottles of the Myshank anti-static wax. Just switched from Souris de-noiser and it seems it does not work on Souris blanks. Instant issues with chip pick up, 2nd attempt after completely dousing the blank in it, the suction failed half way through, and after I stopped cutting ...

Re: Vinyl Recorder T560 Overhead Motor
Hi Handcut, Hope things are moving forward for you. It’s a fantastic idea to create a service manual. This thread alone has taught so much including small things like don’t screw the nut too tight on the black wheel because it can bend the shaft. I am always paranoid of the motor disengaging so scre...

Re: Too Hot! getting the disc temperature right/swarf dropping
Just a thought, are you u lowering the stylus VERY VERY carefully and slowly. If you drop a stylus too quick it will cut a deep initial groove that can often prove too much to be picked up by the suction.

VR T-560 Back Angle Contradictions
Hi everyone, It seems the perfect back angle for T-560 cuts is not unanimous. Most machines appear to come with stylus holder at approx 20 degrees in relation to cutting head body. Including mine. This means if set up with cutting head body parallel to platter (as everyone seems to recommend) then w...

Re: Disappearing Groove around edge of blank anomoly! Why?
Okay, so i've been a bit of a knob and jumped the gun firing questions back at you Handcut before engaging my brain in a calm manner. Please ignore all my comeback questions, I was under pressure at the time and shot from the hip. Sitting back tonight and re-reading it all makes sense what you said ...

Re: Disappearing Groove around edge of blank anomoly! Why?
Thank you Handcut! really appreciate you taking time to respond. Don't mean to be a pain, but could i ask what do you mean by: - "runout on the platter" - Do you mean the part where the souri rubber mat ends, leaving the blank hanging in the air? - "dashpot bottoming out" - The point at which it is ...

VR: Disappearing Groove at Outer Edge. Why?
Hi, Hope everyone is cutting well. I have an issue that im struggling to find a definite reason for. Occasionally, but still far too often. some cuts/blanks there will be a particular section (always the outer edge) where the groove disappears for approx 10mm to 25mm. Sometimes the anomoly will be c...

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580
Maybe I have something to learn from you here. How would you use them? You might want to look into a multi band compressor. Lots of plug ins out there too these days that does that function. I have 2 hardware stereo 6 band Behringer DSP9024's. I've used them for a decade or so for various tasks. Ex...

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580
I've seen and heard 1st hand, perfect, loud, flat response cuts on a vinyl recorder once you master a perfect paremetric eq, compressor and limiter chain! As good as the best cuts! But out of the box from Souri, without this, not so good! Hi Thelurker! I have heard really good cuts with the T-560, ...

T-560 Automatic Groove Spacing Controller, Any Good?
Hi Everyone, I have a T-560 and really want the Automatic Groove Spacing Controller for obvious reasons. Question is, does it work well? Does anyone have any experience with it and can shed some light on it? The good and/or bad if any? Also, are there any other brand of pitch controllers that could ...

Re: Cleaning Off Anti-Static Residue?
Hi Guys, Has anyone had any luck with post cutting PVC disc cleaning? I am having real issues at the moment cleaning. Using a Microfibre cloth, with once boiled water (to remove impurities) then cooled & mixing with a small amount of white cleaning vinegar. Visually it works a charm, they look shiny...
