Re: VR-T560 precision plate without motor
Thanks for the replies. I suppose won't be worth the installation at the moment, nor improve my current setup and yes, I have the SL1200 so going for an sp10 or a motor would make more sense. keep in mind for sp10 you need mk2 version. sp15 also works good, i had it. or if you want to go cheaper, n...

Re: VR-T560 precision plate without motor
it depends on the turntable under the platter. if its technics 1200 then for sure you need the external motor. if it is sp10 mk2 maybe you don't need the motor because i've seen people doing it without it.

On Instagram they say that Sillitoe lathe get's installed here and there. I also saw a pressing plant using Souri's machine to cut the laquers.

Re: Cost-Effective High Torque TT Options
Numark TTX (but not the one with '1' in the model name, like TTX1). If it says only TTX then you should be good to go. Numark NTX1000 also has a lot of torque but I've never tried. Good luck!

Starlight LP (Hip-Hop, BoomBap, Turntablism)
Some time last year I've made the records for the project of Bulgarian hip-hop legend and producer STARTERAs and DJ Delightfull (multiple DMC-kind of battles champion), called Starlight. I know there are a few hippy-hoppy guys in here + for sure there are some more that I don't know of. I think the ...

Re: New: Phonocut Desktop Disc Cutter
I read this entire thread and I already understood that many famous figures and experts in the subject "about lathes for vinyl records and cutting heads and so-called diamond knives" had their dirty hands involved in this failed device for just over $1000. Typical Nigerian scam, they downloaded mon...

Re: Myshank Diamond Comparisons
Somewhere I've read that synthetic diamonds have better structure than natural because they are 'created' in controlled environment. Congratulations for making the big move to cutting!

Re: new MyShank pressed blank records
Update: I made 8 disks today. I confirm that is no need to heat the disc. Background noise is like a store-bought pressed record. I've been cutting for 3 years... I've never had such an excellent result. Any chance to post a photo? I wonder how the labels look like when they are put on the record. ...

Re: Caruso parametric curve
I totally agree with Flo, the Caruso head is a good sounding head for what it was made for. Buy a good amp and use your ears for measuring (it's still the best system to use, you can also add your stomach if in doubt...) please recommend a good model amp. i have qsc but obviously i will need better...

Re: Picture Disc UV printing
I would also like to know how to do it or have tips. For example, I have black PETG discs but 0.75mm. If I just glued two sheets together it would be excellent. But how to glue these sheets together. Some talk about spray glue but we don't have much detailed information on how to do it. you can use...

I suppose that swarf not going inside the tube might be because of the lower weight. If you do the same with normal blank you will have the same results. I'm wondering how you keep the xray flat?

I would suggest to add it to a github repo so we can contribute. I'm not sure what is the intention of this script but I saw the pdfs and there could be some improvements, so I think github is the way to go. What lathe do you have?

@radardoug Maybe he’s not waiting for new customers? The man wants to run his business the way he wants to. Unconventional, yes. But he’s loyal as well. I had a technical problem after many years. He repaired it without charging me anything. That’s also something normal companies don’t do! Simply a...
