Cool Boryo. Thanks for the tip. I'll see if I can find this double sided sticky foil and test it.
you also need strong laminator to put out bubbles, but for the tests you can do without

Re: Picture Disc UV printing

I would also like to know how to do it or have tips. For example, I have black PETG discs but 0.75mm. If I just glued two sheets together it would be excellent. But how to glue these sheets together. Some talk about spray glue but we don't have much detailed information on how to do it. you can use...

I suppose that swarf not going inside the tube might be because of the lower weight. If you do the same with normal blank you will have the same results. I'm wondering how you keep the xray flat?

Re: Record sizes and their RIAA limits

I would suggest to add it to a github repo so we can contribute. I'm not sure what is the intention of this script but I saw the pdfs and there could be some improvements, so I think github is the way to go. What lathe do you have?

@radardoug Maybe he’s not waiting for new customers? The man wants to run his business the way he wants to. Unconventional, yes. But he’s loyal as well. I had a technical problem after many years. He repaired it without charging me anything. That’s also something normal companies don’t do! Simply a...

Re: Perfect Groove Status Update

Is anyone able to run this program? It keeps crashing everytime I click 'play' button... Running it on MacOS Big Sur. Thanks!

Edit: I've just installed it and the output was set to my AirPods. Once I switched to built-in it stopped crashing.

Re: Anyone know any <200 turntables with lots of torque?

I was using sp15 and was cutting heavy boom bap hip-hop without any issues, it worked perfectly. Switched to sp10mk2 just because I had good deal on it. Thanks for the info 🙏🏼 How deep were you cutting? I don't know to be honest but I usually cut with 15-17 grams on head with dashpot. These are the...

Thanks!

Re: Still possible to get a VR in 2024

I got mine in 2023. He doesn't service second hand machines but there is enough info in the forum to fix it. I would say there are 2 critical components - overhead motor and cutting head. For the motor there is info in the forum, for the head - there are enough people who make heads nowadays. So, if...

Problem with grooves on a pressed record

Hello trolls! A friend of mine asked me to 'fix' a record with looping grooves. When I looked at the record under the microscope I was a bit shocked! Some grooves looked like the chip on one of the sides wasn't completely removed from the disc. I've seen something similar when I'm cutting too loud o...

Re: Neumann AM32 and other equipment for sale

This offer geared towards professionals? A minimum of $100k? We're a record label with a budget of $20k to invest in producing short runs of 20-30 LPs for our artists. I'm the label's technician with knowledge in IT and electronics, so this is my task for the future months. I suppose there might be...

yeah they all do that. though the nylon threaded nut (halfnut? wholenut?) connecting the carriage to the feedscrew is permanently attached. vertical play is fine, but if you have left to right play or delays while using the handcrank, you'll need to tighten the tiny allen head screws that fix the n...

I think all VRs are like that. Probably your head will also move a bit left and right if you push it with your hand.

Re: Presto K10 on EBAY- Thoughts?

As far as I know for stereo you will need a dashpot, so this machine will need modifications. Add a few more thousands for mods + stereo head and the price reaches 2nd hand VR. Additionally, I'm not sure if you can even make lead in and load out grooves on this machine.

Hope this helps,
Bob
