Hello I did not use the entire bit but just a small tip, sharpened sharp and round with flattened head. The tip leans slight forward, back causes more hiss, I have an adjuster weight on the recording head.the material does not peel off but makes a scratch.I cut on old cds and dvds I find in the tras...

The sound head uses a scalpel blade but pictured is the wrong one, the one I use is pointed sharp.
