I have two questions:
1. Why/How exactly were the RPM counts 33,45,78 standardised?
2. Are there any other lesser known standard RPM counts above/beyond and below 33,45,78?

Record player with replacement needles & manual RPM settings
Hello.
Which record player has the ability to set RPMs manually, and an easily replaceable needle?
Quality is not that important, but would not be bad.

Hello.
How can I record music directly from my smartphone onto a PVC/polysterene directly at home?

Vinyl = Analogue?
Isn't a vinyl always analogue?
It should be possible to store video on vinyl too, or to be treated like a datasette. But to avoid data loss, data density needs to be sacrificed. Error correction code should also be added.

Groove cutting into blank PVC slice?
Hello. I can find blank PVC/polystyrine slices online: https://www.amazon.com/Styrofoam-Arts-Crafts-Discs-Circles/dp/B006SS2ARY How can I easily cut grooves into them to prepare the PVC/polystyrine discs for vinyl recording? . I could select density and depth. Less depth allows for more re-recording...

Recording speed.
Some modern Vinyl recorders support digital conversion directly; at high speed. But I can recreate that advantage by playing the music via AUX input to the recorder using increased speed/pitch. If I want a 33rpm record but save time during recording, I set 66rpm and play the music via AUX input at t...

Thank you for clarification.
Thank you for informing and clarifying me. Is there now anything affordable that can at least play and record to PVC/polyterene-R from AUX in/output (not necessarily 3.5mm because I have adapters.) + interchangeable parts for repair? DC power input instead of direct wall socket MAINS AC would also ...

Vinyl-R — How to record songs to PVC/polysterene?
Hello. I am passionate about old technology, experimenting and DIY. That's why I would like to record custom music at home. Where can I get PVC-R (recordable) and Polysterene-R? Polysterene is a cheap, low quality alternative for PVC, but I would like to test sound quality and other things. The reco...

Re: Be Nice. Also, don't post PMs.
This is for everyone. There's got to be a way to redirect a misdirected or redundant question without discouraging people from contributing. It breaks my heart when people tell me they don't post on this site often, or at all, due to fear of being humiliated by some of those who post here very freq...
