Re: Noise on right channel & loud tics

It's a strange phenomenon. Sounds like some kind of static tics. I think I'll ask on a turntable forum.

Re: Noise on right channel & loud tics

glad the issue got worked out, if I'm reading it right you're hearing loud tics when you playback on a separate technics deck, but not while you monitor during the cut? and not on other players? does this technics make the same tics while playing pressed records? Well, I don't playback during cut b...

Re: Noise on right channel & loud tics

I installed the resharpened stylus and indeed it was a stylus problem. Still strange the hiss was the same with both styli.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

I still have the problem with the loud clicks at playback on the Technics.

Hope someone can advise me on this.

Re: Noise on right channel & loud tics

I have it with both audio and without audio. It's constantly there during the entire LP side. Narrower or wider tracks doesn't make a difference unfortunately.

Noise on right channel & loud tics

I'm experiencing some strange phenomena recently with my VR. There's more noise on the right channel than left. The left channel sounds clean, while right has a lot of groove noise; you hear the scraping of the stylus + more hiss. I've already changed the stylus but the problem remains. Also adding ...

Re: Digital Microscope

I tried to go down this road a bit ago, I guess the digital one with external lightning can be ok. There's a post (I think by Epicenterbrian) about his scope that seems workable. I ended up just retrofitting my pieced together Spencer scope and it works reliably. Can't find the topic about the digi...

Thanks for posting.

The image of a normal scope is much better, I agree with you.
I can't see myself working with this unfortunately...

I assume this means only good results are possible with more expensive scopes. Question is, hów expensive...

Re: Digital Microscope

I only see professional digital scopes for over 1000 euro.
Is there something (pro) for a few hundred bucks?

Thanks, I'll check these things. Don't think it's a bump (lots of rubber underneath the VR). Also no sign of chips residue.

VinylRecorder: How much stylus heating?

I'm now having it at 5 on the knob. Don't want to risk my stylus. Still hearing how the stylus goes through the grooves. Also hiss, but I fear this is the bad stage line mixer which came along with the VR (any suggestions for professional replacement??). I think the groove sound may well be because ...

VinylRecorder: Needle stuck

Bonjour, Throlls, A question... While cutting on my VR, I checked an already finished record and at the end of the record (in fact the very last sound) the needle of the recordplayer got stuck in the groove (repeated sound). So I checked all other already cut records, but they were fine. Was it a fa...

Vinyl Recorder Precision Motor

It seems the precision motor is at the moment not available from Souri because of too little interest in it.
Souri told me he will order new ones when there are enough orders for it from his customers.

So anyone who's interested in the motor, try contact Souri and ask him for it.
