Re: Distortion even at low levels.......
Are the two VR’s connected to one source? I’d look there to start. The chances that both VR’s show exactly the same problem at the same moment seems unlikely to me

Re: Distortion even at low levels.......
Have you checked your d/a converter? I had a clock problem once. It caused sibilance and clicking problems. Somehow the clock at my software didn’t correspond with my converter. Maybe something got reset after a software update. Once I made sure everything was running on the same clock the issue was...

@radardoug Maybe he’s not waiting for new customers? The man wants to run his business the way he wants to. Unconventional, yes. But he’s loyal as well. I had a technical problem after many years. He repaired it without charging me anything. That’s also something normal companies don’t do! Simply ac...

Re: Still possible to get a VR in 2024
I would suggest being patient. I’ve connected with him many years ago and after one or two months he gave a date for a workshop at his studio in South Germany. These two days were crucial and gave me a good start. At the end of the workshop we could buy the VR. NB: don’t bugger him with emails, it’s...

Re: High end stylus Souri
Thanks for this information @david34 and @mushroomjesus . Yes, Souri contacted me to say he doesn't do them anymore.
Interesting to read about the different diamond.

High end stylus Souri
Hi, greetings to you all
Does someone have experience with the high end stylus of Souri as advertised on the Vinyl Recorder website? Wondering in which way the transcription is better than the normal stylus…
Thanks

Re: Warped blank records
Actually I never had this problem. Apparently strange if I read all these comments. Of course sometimes there is a warped blank, but it flattens perfectly when I put it on the warm cuttingtable. I use 2mm blanks, heating with the two Souri lamps and between 40-50 degrees C.

Re: VR with Technics SP10 MkII : Max Weight stylus
I run a SP10 myself with nice results. I didn't make any height adjustments. I had a custom mat made though. My SP10 mat wasn't close to some kind of flat. About weight. I think a SP10 can handle more weight than you'll ever need. So focus on your groove width/depth with a microscope and adjust acc...

Re: VR with Technics SP10 MkII : Max Weight stylus
It’s the angle of the photo which makes it look not parallel. It’s maybe 5% off but a little off doesn’t matter that much. With many parameters in play- weight stylus, counterweight, angle it’s just a matter of fiddling around. Your VR is different from others so the setting is unique as well- withi...

Re: Chip Jar - EU
Hey there :) Any chip jar should be fine to be honest… The problem arises when opening the lid while the suction is on. This creates a high tension to the lid which eventually will rip. I’ve also ripped one before. Best turn off the suction before opening the lid. This saves you so much money and it...

Re: A little Warning for T560 users
Jeez. So sorry to hear this Ben. That’s really very scary. Thanks for taking the effort of warning us. It’s indeed a sharp high sound. Never even thought such thing can happen. Since I’m a musician myself I may start using ear protection.
I hope you recover soon.

Re: New: Phonocut Desktop Disc Cutter
I’m amazed so many people pay upfront for a machine which doesn’t even exist yet. And now waiting for 2+ years. For the same money you can get a couple of Souri’s. Anyway, wish you people all the luck. Hope it will go well for you. I'm amazed that you apparently know where someone can purchase mult...

Re: refurbish rusty t560 racks
Love the look of those. Remind me of old Moog synths which got forgotten and stored once and looked the same as this t560... Time is a wonderful thing...
Great that Souri is so supportive. Hope someone has good advice for the refurbishing.
