Well, I found the problem. Swapped out the stylus and all is fixed. Leads me to this question. Freshly sharpened stylus causing distortion. How is this so. Looks fine but is the shortest one I’ve seen so far. Doesn’t seem to rattle about looks and is unused. Strange. Tried to reseat it a few times ...

Only just managed to get a new stylus ordered today. Had a bad 2 years of health and money problems. User Handcut came and tried to sort it but my labscale seems to be off and the stylus was 100% a dud. so ive ordered a digital one and a new stylus from my shank. Just need to find a suitable pump

Ive a £3000 machine sitting there doing nothing with 60 blank vinyls. Driving to Germany to get it fixed doesnt bother me.... if Souri would bother replying to his emails.

Hi folks, I have an audio mastering studio in switzerland. I have build a lathe from an old Thorens, Caruso, Arduino this last tow years. I had the luck to meet Flo who advised me on this project. Well im still no where further forward getting my cutter fixed or weights calibrated. I NEED it working though the amount of money i could make is crazy! Im going to email Souri again and ask him if he will help one more time. Wish me all the luck in the world cos ill need it!

Well i gave it a go. and actually got it working cutting clean groove with no audio. But in the left channel it was cutting noise every so oftern. the right channel was totally clean. You need a spring scale. Step by step..... 1.unscrew the ‘oil’ spring on the front of the head completely 2.Lower the cutterhead to the record and check the weight of the head using the spring scale.
