What I did during my quarantine...
I got the wild idea that I wanted to put together an analog mono recording studio around my Presto 6N project earlier this year. Well...here's what I have so far. It's mostly bargain-basement stuff that needs a helping hand, but I'm a sucker for rescuing interesting pieces of equipment. It's still a...

Re: 6N Restoration
Thanks for pointing that out. It was resting on the back bar, but must have been moved while fitting it to the plinth. We had to take it in and out several times. I think I'll remove the feed screw until we get it completely mounted...

6N Restoration
Just wanted to post a few photos of our Presto 6N project. After being out of service for almost 60 years, it's starting to look like a lathe again after removing all the dirt. Made a custom plinth to mount it in, and we're not too far off from running tests to see if it will actually cut a record. ...

Presto A93
Any suggestions where I may find the schematics for a Presto A93 amp? My tech tried to use a 92A manual to sort it out, but they are obviously two totally different animals.
Thanks for your help!

Stupid question about a dashpot
Can anyone tell me how a dashpot for a Presto 6N comes apart? Is it pressed on or is it a screw on lid? I need to replace the rubber o-ring/washer in it, since it appears to be totally deteriorated. I don't want to damage it by prying on it if it's not meant to be pried on. Thank you in advance for ...

Re: Newbies!
Thanks! My 6N came from a Canadian radio station...probably something they had laying around.

Hello! Bruce McLaird & Drew Burasco here. We're new to lathe cutting and are very interested in learning all about their operations. We currently have a Masco RK-5 home unit and are in the process of reworking a 1955 Presto 6N, with the matching 63A amp. I do have a question...what's this? I thought...

Re: Vacuums for chip-sucking
I'm looking at a Gravograph Compact Chip Collector from an engraving system for my Presto 6N. Anybody have any experience with one of these? Here's the link to the Gravograph website: http://www.directindustry.com/prod/gravograph/product-8044-1852294.html
