Selling Presto 6N + 1C Head and K8 + 5C Head
Selling a Presto 6N in good working condition, and a Presto K8 in very good condition. Tried lathe-life as a hobby but my priorities have shifted – willing to make a deal. Here's a video of the 6N cutting. Bought the machine last November and had to tune it up a little bit. Works great now. From las...

Re: Presto 6n For Sale
Buuump. Adjusted the carriage on the 6n, it's fixed. Not in any rush, but I am looking to sell both lathes – the 6n and the K8. Make me a fair offer for one or both and I'm likely to accept. If no response here, I'll put them up on eBay. Lastly, I know it's quarantine times and funds are tight, but ...

Re: Presto 6n For Sale
Bumping this. Now accepting offers on the 6n.
Also have a K8 that's in pretty good condition. Working speaker, working tube amp, both out-in and in-out feedscrews. Accepting offers for that too.
Hit me up. Thanks!

Re: Presto 6n For Sale
Pretty sure the motor is ok. The noise in the video is coming from the 33rpm idler wheel, not the motor itself. Received a new idler wheel from a guy off eBay but it didn't fit so I'm sending it back. If you're interested in the machine, I can try to adjust.

Presto 6n For Sale
I am selling my Presto 6N with feedscrews. I'm in New Lebanon, NY, about 2.5 hours north of NYC. This is the same machine the user swordsect sold here on Lathe Trolls back in Nov. I'm asking for slightly more because: a) I've gotten the machine to work(previous seller sold it 'as-is'), and b) it's t...

Re: Bodine motor rumble: capacitor? [and more Presto 6N...]
Hey guys, did you ever find a fix for this? I just picked up a 6n and it has some formidable low-bass rumble when I switch the motor on to turn the platter. The funny thing is, it only happens at 33rpm. When I try 78, there's no rumble whatsoever. Thinking about ordering some of those aforementioned...

Thanks, New2Lathe for the pictures of K-8 guts, and everyone else for the feedback. Turns out the lathe works just fine and I've cut a couple of blanks so far. Thanks, everyone!

Re: Hi Thread, Trying to Get K-8 Up and Running
Updates: - The taped-together boxes marked "pinion 2" contained my pinions/feedscrews. I am very happy about this. The previous owner had applied some sort of wax/grease to either end. Will need to clean these. Mounted one and it works. The teeth of the fan lock in perfectly. - After watching piaptk...

Hi Thread, Trying to Get K-8 Up and Running
Hi all, very glad to find this forum. Just bought a K-8 off of Reverb and it seems to be in reasonably good condition. Am excited to get this thing up and running and I've got a barrel-ful of questions. This is my first record cutter and I am a complete noob here. I have a tiny amount of electronics...
