Re: KNOP lathe DIY build
Dear All, excuse me for being lost: i didn't get notifications but now i turn this option on. Since august, I burnt a lot of EX 30S with high power, looking for higher gains on the record, and then I decided to switch back to KNOP's original setup with the Visaton BF32 membrane speakers. They work o...

Re: Vanrock/Atom and Myshank 462S vs. 462P & Synthetic
Hi, i use 462 synthetic and 462P. I used first the synthetic one, it lasted for 150 hours of cutting (with a lots and lots of short test cuts), before noises came louder on different parts of the vinyl. Then I changed to 462P whose sound I found much warmer, but some customers said that it's not pos...

Re: DIY lathe , new to this , what am i doing wrong ? :)
+ sorry i forgot something: i see it's going to be a stereo head - You can also play with small phase differences between the two channels in order to find the best cooperation berween the two speakers (I usually phase-invert one of the speakers) +2: with cutting stylus, the membrane speakers are mo...

Re: DIY lathe , new to this , what am i doing wrong ? :)
Hi Nedelcu, it's great how do You do it! looks very nice:) and the sound is also o.k. if we take into account that it's made with steel embossing on CD! Some notes: give a try with different materials (polycarb, axpet) and also with the cutting stylus of myshank. Before i got such a stylus from them...

Re: KNOP lathe DIY build
Dear Grooveguy, sorry for the late reply: i had to work out some questions and problems. Since that - my father in law helped me out to build a better contact between the exciter (i call it resonator speaker) and the torque with M3 16mm screws (see image), so there's no need to epoxy on the torque s...

Re: KNOP lathe DIY build
Hi Grooveguy, yes, i just simply epoxy'd them. They're stable. Since that i burnt out both speakers (overheating... they shut down permanently around 48 celsius), so i'm going to reassemble it. I hope i can close the quality of the sound samples posted above, and then i'll be also proud to post them...

KNOP lathe DIY build with membrane-free drivers
Dear Community, just a small add-on to the topic. I realized KNOP's construction with some small modifications: ~ using DC motor instead of stepper in order to have a smooth slide. I use a hand-cranked generator connected reverse. ~ the original plan with funnels is great, but a lots of the frequenc...
