Re: Anybody else using a Fairchild Thermo Stylus? Need photo
Follow up : I was asked to fix a heat that was wired as shown in the above schematic. They didn't think it was working because the meter didnt move . In the above schematic the meter doesn't move unless the heat wires are connected through a heater coil then grounding the meter. I opened a fairchild...

K 10 amp recap capacitors
I am recapping a k10 amplifier. They are non-polarized capacitors and I understand how to find the foil side on non-polarized capacitors using the ocloscope. But I’ve been going down a rabbit hole on the Internet, trying to determine what kind of capacitors to use . Ceramic film polymer.? so without...

Re: AMI Continental 2 Jukebox Cuts
I haven t had any problems with 2mm They work fine in seeburg 100 mech that plays vertically and in ami 120 the plays horizontally like the continental. I just did a stack from spintown . 100 lg 7inch black cost under 300 with shipping and showed up fast . Also work in Wurlitzer 3300 same mech as 2100

Re: Rek-O-Kut R8B schematic
I rebuilt one of these . I remember, it sucked even when it was recapped with good tubes. But if you are rebuilding for nostalgia sake, I would replace the selenium rectifier with a 1000v at 50 amp diode bridge rectifier. Its over kill , i use them in jukebox amps and work well.

Re: Stylus Heating for Presto K8
you have a k8 and a new diamond and want to cut PETG plastic . be careful . The diamond needs only 10 to 12 grams of pressure to cut instead of 35 grams to emboss on polycarbonate with a sapphire. You don't need heat . Heat is for cutting lacquers. i cut petg without heat and they sound great. If yo...

Re: Presto leadscrew pin removal
no don't remove , or why remove . The clutch has a pressed gear in side . It brass and it you split it while taking it apart , Is not fixable. Maybe jb weld but its not good. What is wrong with the pin? If it wont move , free it with carb cleaner or paint thinner . All metal parts wont hurt it. But ...
