Re: The farmer and his plow - When I set out to build a record cutter

Hey ! Nice vacuum set up! Well built ! For the filter on mine I use makeup little Cotton rags tape under the succion intake and it work well. Looks a bit like your filter. Thank you and glad you like it. My filter consists of the coarse dust filter that usually comes with the dust bags for househol...

Re: The farmer and his plow - When I set out to build a record cutter

Hi Thomas Great project, amazing, thanks for posting the project. Good to read. I am swapping to a channel blower from a vacuum pump. Just got an old one on ebay to try out. Need more power. Best Nik Yes, the disadvantage of the vacuum pump is the lack of air volume (and the pulsating air column). ...

Nice to hear from you again, and that it continues! Small steps are also steps and ultimately lead to the goal. Many years ago, when I was faced with a seemingly unsolvable task (as a manager in the automotive industry) because the overall scope was too large and confusing, a wise old manager said t...

Re: The farmer and his plow - When I set out to build a record cutter

VACUUM Part 4 - The chip container I actually built the chip container much later, but it fits in with the theme. I would therefore like to present the work here. First I had to rework the CNC-manufactured lid on the lathe. The grooves for the sealing rubber were not deep enough and so the lid woul...

Re: Scribing Platforms £80.00 GBP

Looks great! Beautiful work, beautiful material. Price is also fair. I already have something like this, but if I didn't, I would buy it. I have one question: Does it rest on the front of the turntable or does it hang completely from the center pivot? And if it rests on the platter, at what distance...

We were thinking about such a solution for extracting copper chips, but unfortunately the relative vacuum pressure is too low and we had to decide on a much more powerful relative screw pump and, as a last resort, we used a supercharger compressor from a Volkswagen, [a real madness of noise], it mu...

Do you apply it while the disk is spinning and let it dry? Or does it need rubbing for drying? Fer Hi Fer! Re: Weird grooves

The pictures are good and easy to recognize. At times no cut! Cut starts, runs for a few seconds, then cut ends again. Is that the way I see it? The video also shows the vibrating head well. Although the slab blank is flat. Music can be heard. The stylus looks good. My question: Does this also happe...

Re: Anyone used Staticide?

I have been using this for years. https://cramolin-shop.de/antistatik-spraydose-200ml.html Without this spray, the cutting thread usually remains in the groove and is difficult to remove. The "crackling" noise is also almost eliminated. Do not smoke as flammable, do not inhale, causes eye irritation...

VACUUM Part 3 - The practical construction 11/2023 For a test setup, I cut, drilled and glued plywood panels and lined them with sound insulation mats: The closed housing is absolutely quiet. I don't have a dB meter with me, but it's about as loud as whispering. . . 70_01.jpg 70_02.jpg 70_03.jpg 70...

Do you know that too? I'm always putting things off because I have so many more important things to do. But it's often the really important things that I put off. Thank you Phoenix for reminding me! VACUUM Part 1 - The side channel blower 11/2023 I also wanted to report on the extraction system. I have already mentioned this in another forum report, but I would like to complete it here. For me, only a side channel blower came into question. Firstly, only this generates a uniform vacuum because...

Can we get a picture? The picture is coming! I just have to turn the retaining screw on the lathe. as far as negatives of records go: they sound surprisingly like the record themselves as long as you play them backwards. like a user mentioned above you can make a negative of a record with some woodglue and try for yourself. here's a glue negative copy of a record, played forwards and backwards o...
