Started wiring up the linear rail controller. Here attached is my attempt so far..not finished with all the connections yet. Thoughts or any mistakes you can see that may need to be fixed?
added a photo of the underside of the board

Re: Lockdown turntable and lathe - a DIY project

Can you post a pic of your wiring? I haven't gotten the wiring on mine finished yet, trying to follow David's diagram to replicate the stripboard

Yeah I just recopied the library over and its working! Thanks mate. Question, did you find that the end stops are needed to run the code/motor?

Re: Lockdown turntable and lathe - a DIY project

Hi David! Was attempting to use your Arduino code to run my stepper and lcd, but I can't seem to get it to verify and upload. I keep getting "Compilation error: no matching function for call to 'LiquidCrystal::LiquidCrystal(int)' " as an error. Any thoughts to what I could be doing wrong?

Would you be up to share the stl's for the 3d printed parts?

Re: Presto k8 /cnc motorized harm.

Do you have the 3D files? I'd like to see if I can print them and use them in my project.

Re: Presto k8 /cnc motorized harm.

can you share a bit more about how you built the linear rail and the cutting head arm? Do you have the stl files?

Re: Hacking The Teenage Engineering PO-80

Do you have the stl for the larger platter? Yeah I was only using about 20-22g of weight so I probably need to increase it a bit..35-40g is what others have recommended, but i'm worried it'll be too much for the stock motor, so Ill have to upgrade it too. I was thinking of trying to do the same..not...

Re: Hacking The Teenage Engineering PO-80

Did my first cut with the 7" mod and while it plays and there is sound/music..I'm having some issues with tracking (could lower volume to solve) and also the beginning of the recording sounds distorted due to the cutter heads weight affecting the 5" tables stability..any thoughts on how I could solv...

Re: Hacking The Teenage Engineering PO-80

The one on the left is the head I made using the same sized driver from the Gakken. Both actually currently have Gakken styli fitted too. Have tested that they "function" but only crude 'tattoo' style cutting since I don't have the mounting arm or carriers made yet.

Re: Hacking The Teenage Engineering PO-80

Mark what are your thoughts on using a small stereo cutting head? I've been trying to model up an arm that would work with the additional weight/load without coming up with anything "decent"

Re: Hacking The Teenage Engineering PO-80

Printed your parts out Mark and have managed some pretty good cuts using a 50w and 100w amp, many thanks for the stl's. I've started working on making a larger version to cut 7" blanks. I've attached a sample and a pic of the many iterations of gear track til I figured out the dimensions correctly

Hi,

I think that would probably be too much of a leap. By that time, you would be better off designing a lathe from scratch. You get quite a bit of mechanical stuff with the PO80 that would need to be scaled up.

Mark
To be fair Markrob..youre basically there lol
