If you want to make colour blanks you will need 1mm blanks to glue together

Is 1mm enough ? I've seen people using 2mm, or 1.5mm at least... is it gonna affect the sound quality ? I will use a Diamond stylus, so PETG or PVC will do the job ? I'm not in the USA too (europe), there's a guy in my area who deals with PETG and PVC, but i don't know If he's selling sheets of it.
