Re: Vanrock/Atom ending mode
UPDATE 2: The issue was the rubber belt which caused the pulley to not function properly. This wasn’t the original belt but a replacement. The original one is old and beyond repair and also it’s not manufactured anywhere. This problem was resolved by using an alternative urethane belt made diy. I re...

Re: Vanrock/Atom ending mode
UPDATE:
Apparently the issue might lie with the nylon belt and it has to be swapped with rubber. I will keep everyone updated here on the progress in case there’s anyone else with the same issue in the future that is looking for a solution to this.

Vanrock/Atom ending mode
Heya everyone, I’m looking for others who use Vanrock/Atom lathe and have successfully mastered the technique of the ending mode where lathe forms an infinite loop. Once cut is finished, I move the blank onto my turntable to test. Where the lead out ends and lands on the infinite loop, the cartridge...

Re: Heat lamp
Thanks for the reply! I got a YJINGRUJI 250W food heating lamp in the end and it works a treat. I definitely recommend.Dub Studio wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 6:17 pmYes I favour lamps with G4 halogen bulbs. They are small and kick out a nice bit of heat with the right reflector, cheap and easy to get hold of unlike your tungsten spots.

Heat lamp
Hello,
For weeks I’ve been looking for a decent heat lap for warming blanks that would go well together with my Atom 101 lathe but I can’t make my mind up.
Any recommendations or help with specific lamps and links ideally would be very appreciated!
UK based.
Thank you

Re: Tips for a beginner
Great! Also we have seen some people modify Vanrocks with a vacuum system, might be worth it if diamond cutting rather than embossing Yes - it’s currently being modified before shipment! I was looking for a heat lamp like that one on the picture in the link you’ve sent (guide). It looks like it’s m...

Meanwhile, I was wondering if any of you experienced people here would be willing to share basic tips th...

Re: Welcome, Newbies! Say Hi in this thread!
Heya all, Thanks for letting me join this community. I started a diy hardcore punk label and bought a double tape deck recorder to release music on cassettes. I would like to one day also cut lathe records for bands so I decided to start my research early. Fingers crossed I'll learn something from l...
