Little more progress. Welded the spacers on for the home-made bracket. Did some cutting and grinding too. I think its close enough to work.

Re: Presto 6n Spring Switch for motor on and off..

I know this is old, but has anyone found a suitable replacement switch that acts as originally intended? I know I can just put an on off switch elsewhere, but I'd like to try and set up my tables in the original configuration. Ideas? Any manufacturers stamped on the original parts? Part numbers? Tha...

A little more bracket progress. Gotta weld the spacers in place. Probably get to that this week.

The head in question I believe is an Olsen head. I also think that I have the wiring for the motor. The re...

Re: Presto 6N guidance suggestions? (piecing together)

Ok this might help solve the motor wiring mystery. The motor is completely disconnected at the moment. Across two of the wires I read about 22.2ohms. Across the other two wires I read about 135ohms. So one is likely reading the field and the other the arm right? Any suggestions from that? I will lik...

Re: Presto 6N guidance suggestions? (piecing together)

This morning I am making the missing brackets from the first table based on the brackets from the second. We'll se how it goes. While I'm at it, I plan on getting the wiring for the motors correct. So. I have two Bodine motors. Each appears to have four wires coming from it. But the fabric is so old...

Right. It seems to be acting almosts as a filter choke. Its the standard Bodine motor 115vac as far as I can tell.

Re: Presto 160A and 190A Equalizers...Differences

Yeah. I'd at least like to get it working to see all what it does. I have a 190A slder unit and a switch box, but the 3 deck switch got busted pretty good. Anyone know how I can find a replacement? Or perhaps someone on here may have a switch unit they'd part with?

Re: Presto 6N guidance suggestions? (piecing together)

Also, it seems there is some sort of transformer involved with the motor circuitry. Does anyone else have this?

Re: Presto 6N guidance suggestions? (piecing together)

Doing more cleaning. I saw that newer turntable does not have the large ball bearing thing like the first. This one seems to have a small ball bearing stuffed into the shaft of the turntable itself. Is this normal: http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f86/gretsch57/2013-09-27053048_zpsa9461b11.jpg It s...

Re: Presto 6N guidance suggestions? (piecing together)

Ok, so a little developement. I managed to get another Presto 6N table and lathe together. This one has the 190-A equalizer and rack mounted companion switch. http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f86/gretsch57/2013-09-25184707_zpsc0104fce.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f86/gretsch57/2013-09-2518...

Presto 160A and 190A Equalizers...Differences

Howdy all. Since this is kinda specific, I added a new thread. Does anyone know what the difference is between the Presto 160A and the 190A equalizer attachments? I know the 160A also needs either a switch box or a rack mounted companion, but I don't know if a 190A does. Is anyone using one of these...

I managed to find the correct meters as a pair...and the missing knob was actually stuffed inside the console. I still need a handle and some of those little buttons.

Still working and collecting. I managed to get this Collins 212A-1 Broadcast console. Gonna need some work. Missing one big knob and some buttons. Anybody out there have parts for these? http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f86/gretsch57/2013-08-06192159_zps90afa532.jpg http://i45.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Presto 6n motor speed problem

Well you could try and drill out the set screw. If you wind up with buggered threads, you can then tap the hole for a larger set screw. Or you can just make a new pulley.
My thoughts.

Getting closer...here's a pic of what appears to be the same broadcast turntable with the tone arm mounted in a different spot. From the Queen's University radio station in Canada.
No name yet...

I cleaned up what appears to be the spindal where the lathe would likely be attached. Is this any kind of clue?
