Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

How are you guys making the plastic cones? I tried to make some out of thin plastic sheet, and they're not perfectly round, and 2-part epoxy just peels off (it's PVC). I'll post pictures later

Re: Measuring weight/counterweight?

I've been trying to use the spring scale, and maybe I'm not understanding how I should be measuring... As I lift the spring scale up, the measured weight goes up and it lifts the head bracket up. Do I want to take measurements in the position that it's in during cutting for both weight and counterwe...

Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

Yah I took it apart. There's nothing left of the housing it's glued in. I can take pictures of what it looks like without the housing

Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

There's a screw in the back with a sticker over it so you should be able to get to it easily. In retrospect, I should have just dremel-ed the grille off.. Would have been much easier to deal with.

Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

THey are threaded in the back, but they're hard to get the driver out because they're glued in a housing.

Hey Scotty when you get a chance, can you take pictures of your head with the new stylus holder?

I'm going to try making a head, I got Lanzar TWS 1" titanium dome tweeters

Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

How are the high frequencies? It seems like that screw you have holding the stylus would add a bit of mass

Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

So it seems like the stylus holder is the last piece of the puzzle. For that I'd think you'd need a tapered reamer. Has anyone done anything else?

Measuring weight/counterweight?

Ok, so I have a DIY lathe that is similar to a Presto with regards to how the head is held (a bearing that the cutterhead is attached to, and an adjustable spring). I also have a spring scale. How do I go about measuring the counterweight and weight? For weight I'm assuming I take the measurement wh...

Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

How thick are the wires that come out of the cones and connect to the stylus holder? Can you tell what type of material it is?

Re: original RIAA curve with T560 (bypass souri's main unit)

I've used the CurveEQ VST plugin in the past for making EQ corrections.. it's pretty nice, you can take a source file, cut it, record it back, and come up with an EQ curve that will make your source cut correctly. http://www.voxengo.com/product/curveeq/ I believe the trial version will let you test ...

I wonder if acrylic would work... It doesn't emboss, doesn't scratch easily.

Re: Embossing tech - talk

Maybe this is a stupid question, but isn't it pretty dangerous putting lighter fluid/charcoal lighter fluid underneath a heat lamp and around all the electronics and everything? I've been wanting to try it, but I can't bring myself to do it.
