Presto 14-B (similar to 8DG) Variable Pitch motor

Hey guys, I have a Presto 14-B. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to figure out the RPM, torque, and horsepower of a variable pitch motor? This will just be manually controlled for very basic pitch adjustment. I also need the motor to turn the lead screw slower so I can cut at higher pitches (...

I don’t think you can get a stereo head for $1,000 that is fully working. Dietrich might have an Ortofon for sale though..

also check the classifieds for Glavimat

why buy 10x 50 year old blanks for $14 each, when you can get brand new 12" dubs or ref lites for less? Good question. Maybe so that you can cut an Elvis Sun Studio recording onto an original Presto branded acetate on a Presto lathe (like the Presto 6N they had at Sun Studios) and sell it to an uns...

you wouldn’t be able to mount a stereo head on a rek o kut, it would be too big.

$100? You could get a presto mono head, or an rca head if you are ok with no high end response....they sound pretty bad

BTW, I happened to talk to Kim @ custom records about something else (never talked to him before). he said he puts the price that high as and ad and to contact him to work out a real price...(which should be half that!)

It depends on what mount you have. For example, I have a Westrex mount, so I can use Westrex. Or, I can use a small Grampian head, using a Westrex to grampian adaptor. I could make a westrex to sx74 adaptor if I wanted to use a sx74 Of course if you have a small Presto 6N or something, the over head...
