Fairchild 750 Turntable for sale

Up for sale is a beautiful Fairchild 750 turntable. I purchased this from the original owner, who installed this in his home in the 1960s. It was sitting in one place it's entire life. The turntable also comes with 3 spare NOS rubber belts, 5 NOS pulleys, 3 NOS switches, and 4 rubber isolation mount...

Re: WTB: Gotham amps

Hi! I cannot speak from practical experience with gotham/westrex setup, but I'm not sure if this is a good idea. 1. The Gotham amp was designed for the Grampian head -> afaik the feedback loop has a dominant pole in the middle of the audio range! You would have to remake this and I'm not sure if th...

WTB: Gotham amps

Hi all,
I am looking to buy a pair of Gotham amps. I know they are used with a Grampian head, but I want to try modifying them for my Westrex 3D. Get in touch if you have just one, or a pair.

Re: Vinyl Cutting Lathe Wanted

Hi all, It looks like I will not be able to mount my WESTREX 3D on my Presto 14-B lathe (I have both Westrex and Grampian/Presto mounts with it, the drive motors and assembly have been restored with new rubber mounts and oil and grease)..so it should probably leave if its not getting used...feel fre...

Re: Presto 14-B (similar to 8DG) Variable Pitch motor

OK, so I don’t think this bodine motor will be the best option. First of all, it uses a $50 set of bearings, plus the time it will take to replace them, and isolate the BIG motor! It would be great to find a smaller motor that will be quiet and easy to isolate

Re: Presto 8DG lathe question

Hi,
I have the 14-B lathe which is the fanciest Presto, mine has a Westrex mount as well. The 8DG is almost as good but I don’t think it could hold a 3D or 2B head though!)

I have a friend in London who would like to sell a fully working 8DG.

Hey Dietrich, didn’t know that was you! I see CT on it now. But what I said is still true, there is some rust on it...maybe ETEC can fix it. George Alexandrovich could probably fix it too. It’s supposed to be a fantastic sounding head. Whoever gets this should look for the matching amp, but will als...

Looks rusty! I don’t know who can fix one. But getting a Westrex, Grampian, or Neumann, you have support. I just sold an extra Type D for $400...the market is down now!

I have an old Bodine gear reduction motor. After the gear is 45 RPM. I am going to put a DC volt meter (150VDC) across this, and draw a 33.3 and 45RPM scale on it.

Thanks Lukas!

I’m wondering why you would put an O-Ring around the motor shaft and lead screw pulley, instead of hooking up the motor shaft to the lead screw pulley via a longer shaft and shaft couplers?
