Re: Gakken Toy Record Maker: Ovservations and Questions

Hi there,
What I found very surprising is the fact that this device cuts with a tungsten stylus. I did not know it was possible.
It should not be too hard to resharpen.

Re: DIY Overhead Lathe

Hi I share here the sources of my 3d files to build my stereo head. It looks really ugly on previous posts pics but when I made it my 3d printer was closer of a pigeon turd than a printer. Now my printer is way better You will find the sketchup files plus the stl to print it straight. stl have been ...

Re: Arduino Pitch Controller

This is correct. Actually contrary to what the comment might suggest "+variable pitch tentative" This was only the version I was using to try to implement it ...but actually I never did it. Your assumption is correct. Need to find a way to convert the audio input (in advance of the engraving source ...

Re: DIY Overhead Lathe

Completed designing and printing springs to replace metal ones for my transducer. This is PLA, I will maybe try with nylon next time.... The coil is not glued to the spring yet. What bugs me is if I do a mistake the coil will be dead. I will have to find a way to build a coil winder at some point so...

Re: DIY Overhead Lathe

I received Myshank blanks last week. Nothing to complain about these are great items. (and thank you for the extra discs by the way !!!!!) I tried to emboss with them but I can feel that to do that and having good results, I need to take my diy lathe to the next level. First my stylus is not really ...

Re: Arduino Pitch Controller

Thanks for the kind words Peter. I have seen some photos of the control panel of a neumann on the internet....I indeed tried to copy that. I was not even sure someone will find this of interrest but when I will have time I will do the schematics because I did all the wiring by experimenting and if I...

Re: Arduino Pitch Controller

Hi, I coded a pitch controller using an arduino wired to a L298N motor driver shield. The code is designed for a DC motor using PWM. It uses also midi signals with added midi to usb dongle (the module can be used with buttons only without midi if you don't need it) You will need to modify values to ...

Re: DIY Overhead Lathe

I am back with my old obsession engraving records. Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of time for this passion/hobby so my progresses are small but I don't give up. I emboss. My best (well least bad) results so far are with a plotter blade but the funniest part is I do not use the blade side but ups...

Re: DIY Overhead Lathe

While I kept interrest in the topic, I did not post anything since a very long time it seems. So few monthes ago I started all from scratch. the lathe is more or less done (no photo) and the head is nearly done as well. I am not really satisfied about the overall result but for health reasons, I wil...

Re: Sugden Connoisseur back on french Leboncoin website

Sounds like a scam indeed. but what's the point ? "Le bon Coin" is mainly about face to face transactions so if you are supposed to actually do the transaction, you will see and obviously try the machine. Maybe the guy expect a distant transaction (good luck finding a "pigeon" like we say in France....

Re: A newbie is born ...

Your lathe already sounds good it seems.
keep going on with this nice work !
Maybe you should try with an appropriate stylus (I know you can find some for embossing on ebay).
Also Have you tried heating the record with a lamp?
