Re: The dark art of diamond sharpening

I make the sword shape on a 300mm cast iron diamond disc. For polishing, I use a 100mm metal-ceramic diamond disc. There are standards for the rotation of diamond discs. A certain linear speed is required to remove the diamond mass. You can calculate it yourself. A 300mm diamond disc should rotate a...

Re: The dark art of diamond sharpening

1) The shank has a high-precision conical fit; after being installed in the cutting head seat, the shank changes shape slightly. If you resharpen the shank, you'll need to clamp the shank a second time in the collet, then reinsert the shank into the cutting head. The shank's shape and surface will b...

Re: The dark art of diamond sharpening

Hi!! I have no secrets, and I'd be happy to help. Gluing the diamond into the shank is the easiest and fastest part of the process. I use a one-component epoxy adhesive called DKD. I don't think you'll find the same adhesive in your country, but I might be wrong. It's a liquid adhesive designed for ...

Re: The dark art of diamond sharpening

I'm glad people follow my work. Since this forum thread is about diamond machining and not lathes, I'll keep it short. I spent several years developing and refining the lathe you're talking about. A huge amount of money was spent making it profitable. I cannot give you the work of several years of m...

Re: The dark art of diamond sharpening

Thanks for the question! I've been through this difficult process for a long time. I spent a whole year experimenting. I've been producing perfect diamond needles for a long time now, and I have no problems with it. Many people ask me to sell and repair needles, but despite having a well-established...

Re: The dark art of diamond sharpening

I'll also add: if you're making a stylus from scratch, you should have another machine with a cast-iron diamond blade. The sword shape should only be shaped on a cast-iron diamond blade; if you use a metal-ceramic diamond blade, the entire surface will be covered in deep pits. P.S. Perhaps my transl...

Re: The dark art of diamond sharpening

There's one very important point: cast iron discs coated with diamond powder are typically used for diamond processing. The disc diameter is typically 300 mm and rotates at 3,000 rpm. To effectively grind a 100 mm diamond disc, like mine, 9,000 rpm is required. A diamond disc has a steel core and we...

Re: The dark art of diamond sharpening

I tested two types of grinding discs for polishing diamonds: 1) A metal-ceramic disc, a very expensive disc costing $1,000. This disc produces excellent results. If the disc is perfectly balanced and aligned, repairing a stylus takes just a few seconds. 2) I also tested an organic diamond disc, whic...

Re: BANNED FROM YOUTUBE FOR A WEEK !!!

Hey, bro! In most people's eyes, this will always be Nazi symbolism, and no matter what you say, it will always remain symbolic. My personal opinion: I'd change the logo to something more appealing.

Re: The dark art of diamond sharpening

Sapphire and corundum should be polished only with water. This stone does not tolerate overheating. Without water, you won't get a sharp edge. Diamond, on the other hand, is polished without water.

Re: sources of surface noise? (vinyl recorder)

I have never had a problem with noise before, but a few days ago it appeared and I can’t find the problem. The noise is like the ordinary rubbing of a stylus against a plastic blank, now I'm in search of a problem. I think that in this case the stylus is not guilty, I have already changed 5 diamonds...

Hello!! Great theme! I have long wanted to ask a similar question. I use PETG transparent color, This is an excellent cutting material that sounds great. But there is a downside, my diamond serves 10-30 hours, at the moment when Steven promises 300 hours of diamonds. Recently, I began to use white P...

Joans, you have a standard length stylus, you need to insert it into a collet, and you will get an extra length. You have two collets, I hope you have not lost them.
