The motor spins, but the rectifier tube seems to be dead. It takes 250V AC from the secondary of the power transformer, but puts out 0V DC where it should be supplying about 300V DC. The tube is a 6X4. I could always use diodes to rectify, though. There is a needle, but I don't think the cutting arm...

A Rainbow vacuum cleaner uses water to filter the dirt. The vacuum motor sits above the water, and the hose connects to side of the water 'tank'. Jesse, I will definitely let everybody here know. I ordered some filter caps from Mouser; they shoulf be here pretty soon. The CDs I hand-cranked skipped on playback (Technics, modern cartridge), and I had to press down on the cutter arm to get deep grooves. I think I might have one of the low-end u...

This Wilcox-Gray Recordio has arrived. It's the one-arm model; you pull the back of the arm up to cut; there's a threaded gear-thing inside that guides the arm along it cuts. I think the two-arm model would be great for delay, with acoustic feedback for regenration, just like you can do with a three head tape recorder.

Hmm. I just bought a Recordio on ebay. It resembles the IJ10 on the West-Tech Services website. There's only one arm on it, a skinny one. I hope the head hasn't crumbled!
