Can lacquers be played on a regular turntable a few times, or must they be transferred to a stamper in order to make real vinyl?

Well, made some progress this week. I believe my recording head is done, except for the cones, the rods, and the stylus mount. Shouldn't be too hard, but I don't yet have the super-duper $300 ruby cutting stylus yet. Not sure when I will have one. Need to find an alternative. For now, I will be work...

It must look better on the picture than real life. It's not that perfect, but then I can put some finishing touches on what comes out of the RepRap based on known bad machine behaviors. Thanks for the bits of advice. I've made a decision to go ahead and give it a go.
