I have a friend here in London who has a 60hz lyrec motor. Although usable with some external equipment, a 50hz is preferable in this country.

Does anyone have a 50hz Lyrec motor they would like to swap with this 60hz motor?

I have now made the plinth and measured it the old fashioned way but, it would be nice to see what you your measurements are compared to mine. I think from central pin to pivot was 11 1/2''.

I have an 8DG manual, if only I could remember where I put it tho. I warn you tho, it has very little detail in it. The only real technical stuff I remember it having is an exploded diagram of the whole lathe so you could take it all apart and put it back together again. There were no schematics.

I have a Presto 8DG. PM me.

BTW, vinyl is the plastic used in the very last stage of record manufacture. Cutting a master doesn't involve any 'vinyl' products.

What parts of the lathe need oiling? Don't use any oils that contain waxes or detergents. They will usually not say on the bottle if they do or not. Don't use an oil if unsure what is in it.
