actually it is an ortofon head. i think they just labeled with jvc. i had the amps for this head. they build they own amps ( quite nice but not super funky stuff ) for jvc quadro setup. at jvc cutting room in new york they had jvc amps and the red and blue ortofon heads. plus scully "the lathe" LS76...

i think if the formulas are from the 40ies or 50ies the ip (patent) protection is long gone. so they are even published somewhere...its just hard to find them. i think the main interest is historic. to understand the different formulas. and as i said for archive or restauration people it would be go...

i think this is like putting a mercedes star on top of a 50ies buick or so... two nice machines. but they dont go together. its a big smash on any aesthetic eye. an original scully looks damn good. but this. i dont know why people had such strange ideas to put a neumann turntable on a scully. this w...

hello. it would be great if you can make it public domain. or at least publish one or two receipts. i think to get some formulas as a starting point would be great. also from a historic point of view. i think for conservation of old laquer disks this is important information. if you need a place to ...

yes this is a really bad example of technical history. someone put together any random piece of cutting equipement. i guess they just put together what they could get. but i think then it is better to show nothing , than this in such a bad context. maybe the better would have a few pictures to show ...

i agree with lewis. i read somewhere else an articel about the mastering at motown. and they mentioned the same lathe. the quality is the same as it was with a vms66 ot vms70. same mechanics. the only thing they had was fixed pitch. so to verify we can grab just a few motown 7inches from back in the...
