Re: Caruso Pre Amp Feedback

The PAS2002 performs very, very successfully in various studios. One of the best ones off the shelf for little money. I cannot recommend the GX-3 anymore. Too much power, quality completely inconsistent. There were very good ones, very bad ones. Often the devil is in the detail: cabling, RC network,...

Re: 7cm/s vs 5cm/s test record Caruso set-up

It does not matter what you use. 5cm/s is low level today. But it’s the reference every cartridge is measured with And using higher ref levels is causing often slight distortion especially if you’re not top aligned and good cartridge. and you mess up your levels So if you use 5cm/s record set it to ...

Re: Caruso swarf clearance

There should be plenty of room since you have the 7-degree back angle. Maybe on VRs, you don't use that piece, but you're free to set the angle as needed. The curved milling was only implemented in the first series and is essentially useless, so it must be an early version. Removing chips from the s...

Re: Caruso Preamp & Cable: Help needed

put the RC network in the positive output of the amp.then the fuse. the cutter switch in the negative is just easy to do. it does not matter where you break the circuit. but break it with a switch. and its easy to to on the speakon plu . as you anyway have to make a bridge. so use a switch and you h...

Re: Looking for caruso fb head

Yes, we were thinking of selling the whole project to someone to take it over. We just don’t have the time to build up a larger community and deal with another 100+ customers. so we are focusing on the clients we already have. So, if someone wants to take on the Caruso Project., they’ll need: A busi...

Re: Looking for caruso fb head

Well, we just stopped producing new ones. That doesn’t mean we can’t repair them anymore. We have enough spare parts to fix them for many years, and if we need more parts, we will produce them. There are many heads in use daily. Most of them fail because: People don’t know how to set up the system p...

if you just midi automation of the buttons of whatever lathecontroller. i am not big fan of more knobs than needed and i dont like fancy touch screen and unnecessary displays. so my stuff is always as minimal as it can be. same for the midi2lathe interface. well it has 4 unnecessary LEDS to show the...
